NeuSync® comprises a rich set of complementary tools to ILMU™, NeuWeb™ and NeuLogic®. These value add tools have been well thought of in terms of design, functionality, suitability and benefit to the client. Despite the low cost of some of the modules, when plugged-in, they offer very high returns on investment. In most competitors systems, functions available in NeuSync® are either non-existent or 3rd party offerings that operate standalone. NeuSync® on the other hand tightly integrates to all of Paradigm’s other products.

Further details of the NeuSync® modules are as follows :-

  MODULE   DESCRIPTION
Automated Task Manager (ATM)
A useful timesaving device, particularly since many tasks and reports can be scheduled to run and be completed automatically before the beginning of the working day.

Each task is user definable and fully configurable and can be scheduled to complement off-peak hours when resources are more readily available.

A user’s administrative time and costs are reduced significantly as it automatically initiates scheduled tasks without user intervention.

Also integrates seamlessly with ILMU™ to offer a comprehensive suite of solutions to manage an organisation’s information and knowledge resources.
Bibliographic Data- Warehouse Management System (BDMS)
Allows users to establish a union catalogue. It assists organisations with multiple sites to have a centralised model.

Also allows users to perform web cataloguing as opposed to the traditional PC client based version. This means that users are able to perform cataloguing from any Internet enabled PC in the world via a web browser.
Databridge
Bibliographic information import using the books’ ISBN numbers. It provides an aid to librarians in loading their data within the shortest downtime. This module integrates seamlessly with the Paramips and Z39.50 Interface modules.
Enterprise Statistical Transaction Information Module (ESTIM)
A module that allows query, analysis and reporting of data from multiple data sources.
EIS Report Generator
This module allows users to create personalised reports. Formats are user definable. The reports that could be generated include Statistic, Circulation Activities, Vendor Performance, and Circulation History reports.
IRIS
With its modular subsystems, it provides the utilities to scan, store, index and retrieve images. As imaging solution are storage intensive, IRIS allow images to be offloaded to optical storage such as CD-R or CD-RW making it a viable COLD solution as well.

Together with Infotrack, IRIS provides patrons of the library with a common access point to search as well as view any images linked to the bibliographic records.
MAPI
Provides seamless integration with email applications, such as Lotus Notes and Microsoft Exchange. The following notices could be sent to users via email :

- Overdue Notification
- Reservation Notification
- Item Awaiting Collection
- Recall Notification
Message Using SMS Tunneling (MUST)
The latest ILMU™ system alert generator using SMS. This module provides users with the ability to communicate with other connected or mobile portal users. Messages are delivered to users based on personal settings that enable the users to schedule when and what device system, task, content or application messages are sent.

MUST currently works on Maxis and Celcom only as they are the only network provider supporting this technology. There is no cost to the library for sending the SMS alerts.
Parable
An independent label printing programme that has been fine-tuned to operate on non-dedicated resources.

This solution for the library environment consists of a suite of 3 applications, which are Patron / Borrower Code Generator, Book / Resources Code Generator and Spine / File Code Generator.

For the library and resource management environment, barcode labels are the integral key to tracking documentary materials and borrowers. The common denominators between the patrons / borrowers and the resource borrowing function within the system are in the barcode identification labels. ID cards are issued to patrons / borrower with special barcode labels to uniquely identify them. Resources / books on the other hand are identified by attaching barcode labels with relevant information to the books. These labels form the critical link in the operation of a library’s resource management system.
Paramips
A data conversion tool, which provides aid to librarians in loading their data with the shortest downtime and eventually providing the users with on-line information. This is a cost effective tool that can shorten the data conversion process by 4 times as compared to the normal process. It is accurate, efficient and aids in the reduction of manpower resources.
Parasord
A service using on-line remote diagnostic that allows the Paradigm’s Technical Support team to analyse operating system and application software operations and monitor system hardware performances at customer site within seconds of a response call.

On-line diagnostics are then provided and the customer’s problems are immediately taken care of. It aids Paradigm in the provision of quick and effective support to its clients when needed.

RFID Interface/ Book Drop Interface
Book returns can be performed via “Book-drops” which are physical compartments with ‘sensitising and desensitising’ mechanism to register discharging of items in a seamless manner. Users who use this facility would not be required to visit the library.
Self-check Interface
Users are also allowed to initiate item loans on their own without library intervention. The interface would integrate with ILMU™’s Circulation module in order to seamlessly update the circulation transaction repositories and all discharged items would be registered by the system automatically.
Smart Card Interface
Enables patrons of the library to use a one-card system to perform library transactions such as Fine Payment, Membership Renewals, Borrowings, Self-Check, and Photocopying as well as use it for Internet access.

Paradigm has developed both the Z39.50 for server and client. The Z39.50 server allows various clients to access into the library's database, while the Z39.50 client allows access to other library's database.
